Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
An abdominoplasty, or "tummy tuck", tightens abdominal muscles to improve the shape of the abdomen and waist. The procedure generally involves a low horizontal incision to eliminate excess skin and fatty tissue from the abdominal area, enabling the underlying muscles of the abdominal wall to be tightened. Liposuction is frequently included to improve the overall contour of the abdomen.
Abdominoplasty is particularly suited for men and women of relative normal weight with excess skin or stretch marks surrounding the abdominal area. The procedure is not a substitute for weight loss.
